Went down to the jail to wait for my friend, Bas, to be released, and saw several others coming out. There were several with untreated broken bones even. One woman had a fractured foot, which happened while she was being arrested. Another said he wasn’t even part of the demo, that he was just trying to get home and got tackled, which broke one of his arms. His arm was never treated or looked at while he was in jail all night. Bas had a pretty huge gash on their leg that they said looked like it had potential to get infected. When they asked for some disinfectant and a bandage, someone came and sprayed it with Windex(?!?!).
One good thing that has come from this is that there is some great footage of Bas getting arrested, and it is pretty damn clear that it was completely unprovoked, so we are pretty confident in getting the charges dropped.
Also, there is another great video of Bas as they are getting cuffed. They were totally flipping the cops off the whole time, and talking shit.
I will post those videos and more later.
SPD’s PR department
At King County Corrections waiting for a homie to be released. Fuckface from KIRO won’t fucking shut up and is total dick.
Oh, hey! There’s my friends and people in the press getting attacked by cops.
There are more empty homes in America than there are homeless people…
…but, oh no, some windows got broken last night!
Private corporations run prisons now, and they lobby to pass more laws with stiffer penalties to fill those prisons so they can make money off of human suffering…
…but, oh dear, people threw things at the police!
Cops routinely harass, beat, and murder people all over the country and get away with it…
…but but but, those anarchists are just trying to cause trouble.
Innocent people are being murdered by Obama’s drone war, including US citizens…
…but those anarchists should have got a permit to march!
WHY CAN’T THEY JUST BE PEACEFUL?!
Why should a march be peaceful in such a violent world?
While you get pissed that shit got smashed, I get mad about why shit got smashed.
"I was approached by The Seattle Times to write an op-ed guest column commenting on the recent gun violence in Seattle. So I wrote a rap and they liked it and posted the lyrics here (w/ video) in the online Sunday edition (June 10th). People asked for a studio version so I quickly recorded the verses over this Sabzi beat from last year and the homie Justo came through with the clutch 90-minute mix down. Thank you for listening.”

I just wanted to post this because it went totally viral and the photographer got very little recognition for it.
The photographer is a friend of mine, and if you live in Seattle and skate you probably know him. His name is Marshall Reid, and is probably one of the best people I know. He’s a great guy, does lots of volunteer work, and is a great photographer.
For those who don’t know, this picture was taken during the Seattle May Day anti police brutality march. Marhsall told me the cops told him “if you want to be safe, stay near us…” He said that didn’t make him feel any more comfortable.
Anyway, just wanted to give a shout out to a great guy who deserves credit for his work.
